Globe restoration of a terrestrial G.Thomas Editeur sphere

This globe was poorly damaged but has a lot a emotionnal value to its owner, so  I have been asked to do a full illusionnist globe restoration, which means making the degradation the most discreet possible.

All the materials I use in restoration are reversible, safe and have a great stability through time. They don’t become acidic, or change colour, as the deontology of the art conservation demand.

This is part of the restoration studies, this is why it is so important to have a proper degree in this speciality before touching any piece of art : it is not just about « being capable of putting back the pieces in a good shape », it is to insure their good conservation through time, too !
